Facilities Team Leader

The Role

We are seeking an experienced and proactive Facilities Team Leader to manage the day-to-day operations at our King Edward VI Preparatory School

Reporting to the Head of Facilities, you will be responsible for ensuring your designated site provides a safe, clean, and well-maintained environment that fully supports teaching and learning.

Key Responsibilities Include:

Site Operations Management: Conducting daily inspections, acting as a designated keyholder, and ensuring the premises are secure, well-presented, and suitable for all school activities.

Maintenance Coordination: Implementing the Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) programme, responding promptly to reactive maintenance requests, and coordinating specialist contractor visits, and providing interim oversight of the swimming pool and associated plant systems, including managing immediate operational requirements and remedial works until a long term maintenance and servicing arrangement is determined.

Team Leadership: Supervising and directing site-based Facilities Operatives, allocating tasks, and fostering a collaborative team environment.

Health and Safety Site Compliance: Acting as the primary facilities health and safety contact for the site, maintaining compliance, managing risk assessments, and ensuring fire safety systems are tested.

Security: Being responsible for the physical security of the site and monitoring security systems (CCTV, access control).

Event Support: Coordinating facilities support for school events, assemblies, exams, and external use.
